  • Who qualifies for temporary financial assistance from the TCA?

    To qualify, you must reside within the Tantramar town boundaries.

  • I received temporary financial assistance last year, can I apply again?

    Yes, you can reapply the following year if you find yourself needing temporary financial assistance and you meet criteria.

  • What types of temporary financial assistance do you offer?

    We offer the following types of temporary financial assistance:

    • Support towards housing, utilities, and heat expenses such as furnace oil, NB Power bills, water and sewer bills, etc.
    • Vouchers or gift cards at a local grocery store.
    • Costs for transportation for medical appointments, employment opportunities, and medical compassion.
    • Financial support towards medical costs such as prescription drugs or other medical related costs such as equipment or bandages.
    • Transient support to people passing through town (so in this case not a Town of Tantramar resident) and in need of temporary shelter and food.
  • Who do I contact for temporary financial assistance?

    You can apply through the Tantramar Community Association Website at https://christmascheersackville.ca by clicking on Request Assistance at the top of the site then it will take you to a page where you scroll to the bottom and click on “Apply Now”, which will take you to a form to fill out. A committee member will contact you via phone once your application has been received.

    If you do not have access to a computer/internet, you may complete a paper request at the Main Street Baptist Church at 20 Main Street in Sackville during their business hours of 9:30 am—4:00 pm. They can be reached by phone at 506-536-2464.

  • Do you have a limit on this temporary financial assistance annually?

    Yes.

  • How do I know my personal information will be kept confidential?

    The TCA keeps all personal information secure. It is not available to anyone outside the organizations partnering to provide you with assistance and is subject to federal privacy legislation. Information may be used for statistical purposes, but under no circumstances will any individual or family be identified. Under existing Canadian law, we are not permitted to share your information with any other agency outside of this assistance process.
